Famous people in Argentina

Hi Fran!

I’m glad you wrote to me, how are you doing? Someone very well known in my country and all around the world is Lionel Messi, the best football player, from my point of view. Nowadays, he’s famous because he plays in Barcelona Football Club, and he’s the captain of the Argentinian football team.

As we’re used to calling him “Leo”, is the only person in the world to win 5 Golden Balls and 4 were consecutive. Moreover, with Barcelona FC he won 30 titles, 8 in “La Liga”, 4 in “The UEFFA” and 5 in “Copa Del Rey”. He has the record for more goals scored in one year in “La Liga”, “La “Supercopa de España”, “el Mundial de Clubes” and “La Supercopa de Europa”.

Despite the fact that in Argentina some people don’t like him and compare him with Diego Maradona, another football player, he’s still a well-known player and the best for the majority of the country. Leo is also a lovely person even though some journalists talk nonsense about him because he went outside Argentina to play to Spain.

I hope this information helps you to make your college project on famous people on different countries. When you receive your marks let me know how you did.

See you soon!

Is it better to shop in small local shops or big supermarkets?

In the town center of any city, there are different kinds of shops, you may go shopping to small shops or big supermarkets. The difference between one and other varies in the goods availably, the price and the employees’ attitudes.

To start with, the goods available in the local shops are limited. The products are scarce and may not have that one product you like. In contrast, the selection of goods available in big supermarkets are more varied, the amount of different products is wider than in local shops.

Secondly, the prices in local shops are higher and do not vary too much due to the limitation of products. On the other hand, the prices in big supermarkets between the same products but different brands may vary and find cheaper prices than in local shops.

Finally, the employees in big supermarkets may be ungrateful due to the amount of people who shop every day. But in local shops, employees’ attitudes may be more familiar and lovely due to the contact between people and employees.

To conclude, it is better to shop in big supermarkets because of the advantages of the goods available and the prices you could find despite the fact that local shops may treat you better

Improving workplace communication

Introduction
The principal objective of this proposal is to solve the problems of communication the Staff Department has. Every time we try to communicate some news, the majority does not get to know and afterwards there are problems in the execution.

Current problem
Talking with some members of the Staff Training and Development Department we get to the conclusion that is inefficient the use of emails. Despite that they are quick and easy in many cases it is inefficient, because day by day we receive a large amount of emails we do not even have a look at and the important ones may be pass by accident.

Recommendations
Due to the lack of efficiency I recommend to follow these steps:

  •  No more emails will we send to inform something.
  • In contrasts, a board will we set up in the lobby of the Department so whenever a meeting should we arranged it must be written there.

  •  A group of Whatsapp will we form, in which ALL the Staff Training and Development Department must be inside it. It will just be used to inform about meetings, news, etc.

  • If someone cannot assist to the meetings MUST inform the boss in his section.

If the recommendations are implemented, the communication between the Staff Training and Development Department should be better.

Which advices would you give to your friend to study for exams?

From: LeandroT@gmail.com
To: George1@gmail.com

Hi George, how are you doing? I know you're stressed out with all the examinations you're having soon. Years before I was having the same troubles, but I followed some tips and from that time onwards I could remember all very easily. First, you need to organise your time, them you should sum up the essential info and study whenever you could.

To start with, you need to organise your time studying for the recent exams first and when you sat for them you study for the upcoming once. It's very important to do it because you could get confused and the information all together difficult to remember.

Secondly, you could sum up the main topics to reduce the amount of irrelevant information. I use it to take out the examples the book may give, and the information that is essential, write it in capital letter. Also, you could make a mind-map if you're one of those who have photographic memory.

Lastly and from my point of view, the most important tip is to study whenever you've got some free time. For example, you could study when you're taking a shower repeating the summery in a loud voice, it's very useful. And my favourite is to study 10 minutes before sleeping and 10 minutes when you wake up. I remember most of it when I do it.

I hope these tips help you to pass the exams and you don't get too stressed with them. Any doubt that you've got, write to me, I don't have any problem. And when you finish them all write to me again because I want to know how you do.
Good luck! Leandro

Being aware of what we eat and do

Nowadays we are used to eat anything that is quick and easy to cook, without mattering if it is healthy or not. People need to be aware of what they war, if not they may become obesse. Doing sports is the best option to maintain healthy, also being aware that being fitness is recommended.

To start with we can promote doing sports and a healthy lifestyle through the media. Believe it or not the advertising can reach a wide range of population. Despite that is a great idea, it is very expensive to have a few seconds en the TV, or radio to show all the information needed to make people aware of the importance of what they eat and of doing exercise.

Moreover, we can also educate children from a young age about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. If schools can teach little kids to be aware of what they eat and exercising often, they will take it as a routing and they could implement it through out their lives. Eventually it is one of the best options it takes time to educate children to apply it.

To conclude, both ideas are good to change people's lifestyles. In the first option, the media could reach along the population, but they could take or not the advice. On the other hand, the second option is more effective because you are teaching kids to make use to doing sports. Both solutions are necessary to explain why it is important for people to be aware of what they eat and the exercise they do.

Private cars in the city centres

Nowadays, the city centres are full of private cars slowing the transport, making it tedious to move in town. The government should improve different methods to discourage the use of private cars. For example, investing in appropriate public transport and promoting that private cars are a waste of money.

On the one hand, the government should invest in appropriate public transport to discourage private cars from the city centres. They may upgrade the line trains and busses by making them comfortable enough so people leave aside private cars and feel attracted by these new features.

Also cleaning up the public areas to make these visually nicer. Moreover, they could place bike zones where you take a bike that the government offers you by paying an amount of money monthly, showing that is less expensive than private cars and fitter.

On the other hand, private cars arena totally waste of money compared to public transport due to the fact that company agents impose expensive taxes and license plate you must pay. Plus the gas you should buy eventually to drive cars. Therefore, public transport is a lot cheaper than private cars.

To conclude, the government should improve public transport so as to discourage private cars in the city centres. Upgrading trains, busses and bike zones so people get use to ride them in daily life, giving the fact that private cars are expensive compared to public transport.
